Tver State Medical University has risen to the heights of the all-Russian rating, which assesses the quality of admission to universities of the Russian Federation in 2017.
This monitoring has been carried out since 2009 by the working group of the research university "Higher School of Economics" with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Public Chamber Russian Federation. Based on the results of the study, statistics can be analyzed both by country and by region.
In general, the Russian education in 2017 showed a noticeable progress. Strong entrants in the country became more: 36% of universities enrolled mostly excellent students and only 13% - mostly "three-grade students". Applicants began to more rationally assess the prospects for the labor market: increased paid admission to "Healthcare", "Computer science and computer technology" and decreased to "Economics" and "Management".

The average score of USE from applicants enrolled to budgetary places in Tver State Medical University is 78, while the share of universities with a score of 70 and higher is 36.2% in the country. Tver State Medical University took the 10th place among the medical and pharmaceutical universities in Russia (48 took part in monitoring) and 37th among all universities of the country (417 in all).
High results were also shown in admission to places with payment of tuition fees: the average EGE score was 72.2 (the share of universities with a score of 70.0 and higher was only 5.7%). Thus, the Tver State Medical University ranked first among medical and pharmaceutical universities in Russia (48 in all) and the ninth place among all Russian universities (out of 403).
These high rates were the result of many years of systematic work by the entire staff of the university. We have achieved the fact that we are motivated, professionally oriented young people who want to connect with medicine for the rest of their lives. This year 35% of entrants were medalists. Considering that each applicant can submit applications to five universities simultaneously, for high schools the high competition for a place has ceased to be an indicator. Now they are guided by the average score of the Unified State Examination, and here our university has brightly declared itself to the whole country.
