Tyumen State Medical University was founded in 1963 as the Tyumen State Medical Institute.
March 11, 2015 in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Tyumen State Medical Academy renamed Tyumen State Medical University.
To date, Tyumen Medical University occupies a prominent place among the medical universities of the country, integrated into the international high school and medical science.

Higher professional education is realized in 4 specialties ( "Medicine", "Pediatrics", "Pharmacy", "Stomatology") and one direction "Nursing" (bachelor). Every year in high school full-time and part-time forms of higher education programs, training about 3,500 students.

Program of additional vocational education for the academic year about 6,000 people are trained in 56 medical specialties during the cycles of professional development and professional retraining. Training in internship is conducted in 29 specialties, in residency - in 35 specialties.
