SPCPA became the first institution of pharmaceutical education. The foundation of the institution was held thanks to D.I. Mendeleev. Now the university operates 25 departments. They are grouped into 3 faculties.Educational programs for internships and post-graduate courses, training of middle-level specialists have been developed.

The modern higher educational institution, which has accreditation and an unlimited license for educational services  SPCPA, in 2009 marked the 90th anniversary of the organization of the first institute of pharmaceutical education in the country.
