Federal State Institution of Higher Professional Education «Perm National Research Polytechnic University" was established in 1953 by Order of the Ministry of Culture on July 18, 1953 №1275 As Molotov Mining Institute.

In PNRPU enrolls more than 20,000 students, more than 700 graduate and doctoral students. Every year the university produces more than 4500 specialists with higher education. For 60 years the University has trained more than 130 000 specialists with higher education, which are currently the recognized leaders of many enterprises and organizations. Every year from 10% to 12% of enrolled students study on the order of the defense industry complex and regional order. Perm Polytechnic University provides training on 9 faculties and 51 department.

International activity

International activity is one of the priority directions of activity of the university. The purpose of the implementation of international activities PNRPU is the integration of the University as an equal partner in international scientific and educational field,which implies full-scale internationalization of the university by including international aspects in all areas of its activities.

University implements international activities within the framework of 37 agreements on cooperation with educational and scientific institutions. PNRPU cooperates with major international companies and corporations.

As a result of cooperation on the basis of university operate joint laboratories and educational centers. Within the framework of international activities PNRPU developed educational programs for specialist training on the basis of a double degree of technology (in cooperation with the Technical University of Vienna and the University of Applied Sciences Anhalt). PNRPU actively developing the export of educational services - at the university enrolls more than 100 foreign nationals from countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa. Every year the university to conduct master classes and lectures come to 50 leading scientists from foreign universities and scientific centers in Russia and abroad.
