On February 26, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science hosted a meeting of the Russian-Indian working group on education, science and technology.

The Russian side of the working group was headed by the Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia S.Yu. Matveyev. It also included representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, FAO, RFBR, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, the RNF, Roshydromet, scientific and educational organizations.

In the Indian delegation led by the Head of the Department of bilateral cooperation of the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, Arabinda Mitra, there were representatives of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, the Ministry of Geography of the Government of India, the Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India, the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Russian Federation.

The sides exchanged information on the current state of the legislative base of both states in the scientific field and outlined areas for cooperation in matters of mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the same time, the sides confirmed the existence of joint state priorities in a number of areas of science and technology and approved the start of the development of a new roadmap for bilateral cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of India in selected priority areas.

Special attention was paid to cooperation in the field of information technology, communications, biotechnology, oceanology, nature management and the nuclear industry.

Representatives of Russian scientific and educational organizations, commercial companies presented their proposals on the prospects for establishing and developing mutually beneficial ties with Indian partners.

As a result of the event, the heads of delegations signed the Minutes of the meeting, which reflected current and prospective areas of cooperation in matters of bilateral scientific cooperation.
